Halloween isn’t the only time to dress in costume.
“The Labyrinth of Jareth is a Masquerade Ball based on Venetian Histories, Celtic Faerie and Goblin Lore” States on the websites.
The masquerade ball took place in the Henry Fonda MusicBox Theatre July 10th and 11th.
I do not kid, I had an absolute blast at this Ball. It was so worth your money.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with strange mimes, goblins, and crazy people in costumes. I thought it was just going to be people dressing up in vampires. Boy, was I wrong.
It was amazing to see all the handmade costumes people came in.
- Ugly thing aint he?
- Oooh! Scary!
- Lovely isn’t it?
- This took him years to make. He did a wonderful job.
The costumes ranged from fairies, goblins, skeletons, steam punk warriors, etc. There was even a Jack Sparrow.
The event had three main rooms one could go to: dance room, a goblin garden, and a hang out area on top of the building.
It was a joy to listen various artist played on the dance floor.
Music ranged from 80s synthpop, gothic, middle eastern, etc.
In between dances, the curtains are lifted and the audience enjoys a ballet and musical performance.
The bands that played were Stellamara, Gram Rabbit, West Indian Girl. Each with talented female singers.
Unless, you are non socialite, who just sat there, doing nothing, this was a fun event to go to.
I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
